Today, on the first trading day of the week, i.e. Monday, October 13, the Sensex is trading at 82,200, down by about 300 points. There is also a decline of about 100 points in Nifty, it is at 25,200.
Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 22 are in decline. Shares of Tata Motors, Bharat Electronics and Infosys are down up to 1%. Asian Paints, Zomato and Airtel are leading.
At the same time, out of 50 stocks of Nifty, 36 are in decline. There is a decline of up to 1% in IT, Metal, Realty and Oil & Gas sectors of NSE. There is flat business in healthcare and media sectors.
Global markets fall, Asian markets fall more than 3%
- In Asian markets, Japan’s Nikkei was down 1.01% at 48,088 and Korea’s Kospi was down 1.26% at 3,564.
- Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index traded down 3.14% at 25,463 and China’s Shanghai Composite was down 1.30% at 3,846.
- On October 10, America’s Dow Jones fell 1.90% and closed at 45,480. The Nasdaq Composite fell 3.56% and the S&P 500 fell 2.71%.
On October 10, FIIs bought shares worth Rs 1,708 crore.
- On October 10, foreign investors (FIIs) made net purchases of Rs 459.20 crore in the cash segment and domestic investors (DIIs) made net purchases of Rs 1,707.83 crore.
- Foreign investors have so far sold shares worth ₹213.04 crore in the month of October. Whereas domestic investors have made net purchases of Rs 11,797.01 crore during this period.
- Foreign investors have sold shares worth ₹35,301.36 crore in the month of September. Whereas domestic investors had made net purchases of ₹ 65,343.59 crore during this period.
The market had closed with a gain of 328 points on Friday
On Friday, October 10, the Sensex rose 328 points and closed at 82,500. Nifty also gained 103 points and closed at the level of 25,285. Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 22 rose and 8 declined. The biggest rise was seen in the shares of PSU bank, realty and pharma sector.
