Rule Change 1 Nov: 1 नवंबर से नया नियम, अनजान कॉल पर भी दिखेगा असली नाम

After the order of the Government of India, now the new rule is going to be implemented from November 1. Orders have been issued by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) and all mobile users will be required to show the name of the caller. Actually, many times many people used mobile apps like True Caller to know the name of the caller coming from an unknown number.

DoT has directed telecom service providers to implement Calling Name Presentation (CNAP) from November 1, 2026. CNAP is actually India’s Verified Caller Identification System, under which users will see the name of the caller along with the unknown number.

For example, if a caller calls you and his number is not included in your contacts book. In such a situation, along with the unknown phone number, the name of that caller will also be visible on the display. This will be the same name in whose name SIM card (SIM Card) has been purchased.

4G and 5G service started for users

According to the DoT order, whenever 4G and 5G service users receive CNAP service, it will be mandatory to display the name of the phone caller under CNAP. The rollout for 2G and 3G networks will be done later.

This is how CNAP’s Caller ID feature works

Whenever Indian mobile users receive a call, the name of the caller appears on the screen along with the name of the caller which is saved in the contacts book.

If the phone number is not saved in the contacts book, then the name of the caller will be visible on the mobile screen which is present on the data server of the telecom company. This is the name in which the SIM card is purchased.
