US President Donald Trump, while announcing a $300 billion (about Rs 25.35 lakh crore) oil refinery in Texas, thanked India and its largest private energy company Reliance.

US President Donald Trump has praised India and Reliance Industries for building the first new oil refinery in America in the last 50 years. Describing it as a historic investment, Trump said that this is a big victory for the ‘America First’ policy. Through this project, America wants to re-establish its dominance in the energy sector.

The entire deal is worth 300 billion dollars Donald Trump announced this project on the social media platform ‘Truth Social’. He told that this refinery to be built in Brownsville, Texas is part of a big deal worth 300 billion dollars.

According to Trump, this is the biggest deal in American history. However, it is not completely clear whether the entire amount of $300 billion is only part of the agreement with India or other partners are also included in it.

Claims to be the world’s cleanest refinery Trump said that this refinery to be built at Brownsville port will not only meet the needs of the American domestic market, but will also promote global exports. He claimed that this would be the cleanest refinery in the world. This will strengthen America’s national security and create thousands of new jobs in the South Texas area.

Trump said- thanks to India and Reliance Unveiling the project, Trump wrote, “Thank you to our allies in India and their largest private energy company, Reliance, for this wonderful investment.” Praising the policies of his government, Trump said that due to tax cuts and simplifying the permit process, such huge investments are coming back to America.

Big announcement amid tension in the Middle East This announcement has come at a time when there is turmoil in the global oil market due to the ongoing conflict between Iran, Israel and America. The closure of the Strait of Hormuz has affected 20% of the world’s oil supply, causing crude oil prices to rise. In such a situation, America wants to reduce its dependence on other countries by increasing its domestic oil production capacity.

Element Fuels Holding is working According to news agency Reuters, ‘Element Fuels Holding’, a Dallas-based startup company, had talked about resuming efforts to build a new plant in Brownsville in 2024. It is believed that Trump is referring to this big project, in which Indian cooperation is now coming to the fore.
