Reliance Industries has today (January 16) released the results for the third quarter of the financial year 2024-25. In this the company has made a profit of Rs 18,540 crore. There has been an increase of 7.38% on annual basis. In the same quarter a year ago, the company’s consolidated net profit was Rs 17,265 crore.
At the same time, the company’s operational revenue in the October-December quarter stood at Rs 2.44 lakh crore. In the same quarter a year ago, the company had generated a revenue of Rs 2.28 lakh crore. There has been an increase of 7% on annual basis. The amount received from selling goods and services is called revenue.

What is EBITDA?
EBITDA i.e. Earnings Before Interest, Tax, Depreciation and Amortization EBITDA is the total earning of a company, which includes the cost of paying interest, paying tax, compensating the decline in the value of assets or machines and repaying old loans or debt. Doesn’t happen.
EBITDA tells the operation of a company or firm or the state of its operations. It is usually used by companies to evaluate their business. Costs or expenses are not taken into account in calculating this.
EBITDA margin tells the percentage of company’s revenue.
EBITDA margin tells the percentage of a company’s revenue, which measures the growth of its operations. By knowing the EBITDA margin of a company, its real performance can be compared with other companies in the same industry.
The company has four main segments – Jio, Retail, Oil to Chemicals (O2C) and Oil and Gas. Here we are telling everyone’s performance one by one…
1. Live:
- Net profit increased by 26% year-on-year to Rs 6,861 crore. It was Rs 5,447 crore in the same quarter last year.
- The operational revenue of the telecom company increased by 19.4% on an annual basis to Rs 33,074 crore. Last year in October-December it was Rs 27,697 crore.
- The company’s EBITDA increased by 10% annually to Rs 15,478 crore. The margin increased by 50bps to 52.8%.
- Average Revenue Per User (ARPU) is used to measure the performance of telecom companies. The company’s ARPU increased by 12% to Rs 203.3 in October-December.
2. Oil to Chemicals (O2C):
- Consolidated net profit increased by 10% to Rs 3458 crore. It was Rs 3145 crore in the same quarter last year.
- Revenue increased by 6% on annual basis to Rs 1,50 lakh crore. Last year in October-December it was ₹1.41 crore.
- EBITDA stood at Rs 14,402 crore, up 2.40% year-on-year. Last year it was ₹14,064 crore.
- O2C’s EBITDA margin declined by 40bps to 9.6% from 10% last year.
3. Retail:
- Reliance Retail’s revenue increased by 8.8% year-on-year to Rs 90,351 crore.
- The retail company’s EBITDA increased by 9% year-on-year to Rs 6,840 crore.
- There is no change in EBITDA margin. It remained the same as last year at 7.6%.
4. Oil and Gas:
- Oil & Gas revenue declined 5% to ₹6,370 crore in the third quarter. Last year it was Rs 6,719 crore.
- EBIDTA of Oil & Gas segment declined by 4.11% year-on-year to Rs 5,565 crore.
- Margin increased 100 bps to 87.4% from 86.4%.
Reliance shares fell 7.25% in one year
Ahead of the quarterly results, Reliance Industries shares closed at Rs 1,275 with a rise of 1.82% on Thursday (January 16). The company’s shares have risen 2.27% in the last 5 days and 0.53% in a month. But, there has been a decline of 19.11% in the last 6 months and 7.25% in one year.
