Jio Adds 77 Million 5G Users In FY26, Profit Crosses Rs 30,000 Crore
Reliance Jio continued its strong growth trajectory in FY26, with its user base crossing 524 million and profit after tax exceeding Rs 30,000 crore for the first time, the chairman of Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltde (RJIL) Akash Mukesh Ambani said during the company’s 49th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on June 19.
Highlighting Jio’s decade-long journey, Ambani said the telecom and digital services company has achieved an extraordinary operational scale. Jio’s 5G subscriber base crossed 268 million during the financial year, making it the largest single-country 5G network operator outside China. The company added 77 million net 5G subscribers during FY26.
Jio also strengthened its position in the fixed broadband segment through JioAirFiber. Ambani said the service, which became the world’s largest fixed wireless broadband operator last year, now connects over 13 million homes across India. The platform is helping expand access to high-speed broadband services at an unprecedented pace, particularly in underserved regions.
Data consumption on Jio’s network continued to surge, with total traffic reaching 241 exabytes in FY26, marking a 30.8 per cent year-on-year increase. According to Ambani, this places Jio among the largest data operators globally.
The company also delivered strong financial performance during the year. Jio Platforms reported revenue of Rs 1,46,885 crore, up 14.6 per cent from the previous year. EBITDA rose 18.8 per cent to Rs 76,255 crore, while EBITDA margin improved by 190 basis points to 51.9 per cent.
Profit after tax crossed the Rs 30,000 crore milestone for the first time, reaching over Rs 30,000 crore and registering a growth of 15.1 per cent year-on-year.
Ambani said the results reflect the trust placed by millions of Indians in Jio and demonstrate that the company’s growth remains both broad-based and profitable.
