Chief Minister Mohan Yadav issued a statement on Saturday saying that in this hour of crisis, the Madhya Pradesh government is standing strongly with Sonam Raghuvanshi and his family. He said that he has also talked to the Chief Minister of Meghalaya regarding this matter and senior police officers of Madhya Pradesh are constantly in touch with the Meghalaya administration.
The CM further informed that he has requested Union Home Minister Amit Shah to hand over the investigation to the CBI so that the truth can be revealed and Sonam Raghuvanshi can be brought back safely. He also said that every possible effort is being made for the safe return of Sonam Raghuvanshi.
Marriage on 11 May, both went missing from May 23
Significantly, after getting married on May 11, Raja and Sonam went to Meghalaya for honeymoon. Both have been missing since 23 May and the king’s body was found in a ditch on 2 June. Sonam has not been detected so far, due to which the concern and administrative pressure of the family is increasing continuously. After recommendation of the Chief Minister’s CBI inquiry, it is expected that the layers of this case will now open soon.
‘CCTV footage is suspicious’
After the CCTV footage of both of them surfaced, Vipul Raghuvanshi said, ‘In Madhya Pradesh, I am getting good support from both BJP and Congress. We want the Meghalaya government to cooperate a little better in this matter. The police administration is not working properly there. They are searching within 50 feet radius of the scene. The CCTV footage (the last known whereabouts of Raja and Sonam) is looking suspicious.
Shillong’s news channel released new CCTV footage
A new CCTV footage of 4 minutes 53 seconds released by ‘T7 News Channel’ in Shillong has surfaced, in which Raja and Sonam Raghuvanshi are seen coming to normal in the hotel on 22 May. Both of them kept their bag in the hotel and then rode on Scooty.
In the footage, Sonam is seen wearing a white shirt and raincoat. This is the same shirt as it was found near the king’s body, and Rainkot seems to be the same as it was later recovered during the search operation.
