PSG Handed Difficult Champions League Draw Featuring Man City, Aston Villa & Barcelona

Defending champions Paris Saint-Germain will take on Manchester City and Aston Villa in the upcoming Champions League, with the draws completed on Thursday. PSG will also take on Barcelona in the league stage of the tournament.

The consecutive Champions League winners will host Barcelona at the Parc des Princes and were drawn to face Aston Villa away as well, along with an away trip to Manchester in the league phase.

Premier League champions Arsenal will host 15-time winners Real Madrid at the Emirates Stadium and also travel to face Bayern Munich. Mikel Arteta’s team, who lost to PSG on penalties in last season’s final, will take on Borussia Dortmund, Real Betis, Lille, Napoli, Azerbaijan champions Sabah and Slavia Prague as well in the league phase.

Enzo Maresca’s Manchester City will host PSG at the Etihad Stadium and travel to Barcelona, where they will reunite with Spanish FIFA World Cup winner Rodri, who joined the Catalan club in a £65 million deal this summer.

Manchester City will also come up against former midfielder Kevin De Bruyne when Napoli travel to the Etihad, while Sporting CP, Porto, RB Leipzig, AEK Athens and Lens are their other league-phase opponents.

Europa League winners Aston Villa will return to the Champions League after a season away, hosting PSG and Borussia Dortmund while travelling to face Barcelona and Galatasaray.

Unai Emery’s team will also take on Club Brugge, Fenerbahce, Viking and Slavia Prague.

Manchester United will return to the Champions League after a two-year absence, facing Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid, Roma, Sporting CP, RB Leipzig, Villarreal, Sabah and Como in the league phase.

Liverpool, meanwhile, will host Atletico, Porto, Villarreal and Lens, while travelling to face Inter Milan, Club Brugge, Fenerbahce and LASK.

The Champions League league phase will get underway on September 8, with the final round of games scheduled for January 27. The exact fixture schedule will be announced on Saturday, August 29.
