A police raid on a cosmetics shop near a temple in Uttar Pradesh’s Sonbhadra frequented by women revealed a shocking discovery.
When the police, acting on information from an informant, raided the beauty-products shop in the Anpara police station area, they discovered a large quantity of illegal firecrackers instead of cosmetics. The estimated market value of the seized firecrackers was around Rs 5 lakh.
The raid uncovered ten sacks and seven boxes filled with firecrackers. The police seized the illegal stash and are currently investigating the matter.
Commenting on the operation, Pipri Circle Officer Amit Kumar stated that they received information about a large quantity of illegal firecrackers being stored in a house. Acting on this tip-off, they raided the place near the Radhakrishna temple in Purab Parasi area.
The team discovered a consignment of firecrackers hidden inside the house. The illegal firecrackers were being stored in ten sacks and seven large boxes within the cosmetics warehouse owned by one Trilok Chandra Singla in the Renusagar Chowki area.
This incident follows a previous seizure of firecrackers worth Rs 7 lakh in Uttar Pradesh’s Robertsganj town, highlighting a concerning trend of illegal firecracker storage in the region.
