PM Modi New Zealand Visit Live Updates: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday departed for New Zealand’s Auckland for the final leg of his three-nation diplomatic tour after concluding hid two-day visit to Australia. Invited by New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon, PM Modi is expected to land at around 1:35 pm IST.
On Saturday, PM Modi will begin his programme with meetings at Government House in Auckland before attending a sports and business event at the Viaduct Business Centre. He will later address the Indian community before leaving for New Delhi in the afternoon.
Before departing Melbourne, PM Modi, accompanied by Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, visited the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), where the two leaders paid tribute to cricket legend Shane Warne at the Shane Warne Stand. During the visit, Albanese also announced Australia’s support for India’s bid to host the 2036 Olympic Games, marking another significant milestone in the growing partnership between the two countries.
PM Modi’s Australia visit concluded with a major diplomatic boost as India and Australia signed 18 agreements covering civil nuclear energy, defence, maritime security, critical minerals, cyber cooperation and trade. The two leaders reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and enhancing cooperation for a free, open and rules-based Indo-Pacific.
