PM Modi has reached Johannesburg, South Africa to attend the 20th G20 Summit.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in the third session of the G20 Summit in Johannesburg on Sunday that the world should prepare a global compact to prevent misuse of Artificial Intelligence (AI).
He said that all important technologies including AI should be human-centric and used for global good. He said that technology should be human centric, not finance centric.
Restriction on use of AI in terrorist activity
Modi said that AI is the most profound technology of humanity, but it should be used for global good. Strict restrictions should be imposed on the use of AI in deepfake, crime and terror activities.
AI systems that impact human life, security or public trust must be accountable and auditable. He stressed that AI should enhance human capabilities, but the responsibility for decisions should remain with humans.

Appeal to make technology global open source
Modi said that technology should not be national but global and the open source model should be given priority.
He said that India’s technology system space, AI, digital payments is built on this vision, which has yielded world-class results.
