WWE manager Paul Heyman had some kind words for the wrestling promotion’s Undisputed Champion Cody Rhodes. Heyman, who has served as a manager for several successful superstars across multiple storylines in WWE history, recently sat down with former United States Champion Logan Paul in a podcast episode on YouTube where he hailed massive praise on The American Nightmare.
“Cody Rhodes is the champion. If there’s anybody right now – my God – he’s a commerce facilitator. He sells tickets, he sells t-shirts, he sells weight belts, he sells replica title belts that he signs. He drives commerce,” Heyman said on Impaulsive.
Heyman jokingly added that the company required Rhodes’ presence in Detroit to sell out their next show.
“Cody, we need you in Detroit. We’re at 98 per cent. We really want to sell out,” he said.
Later, Heyman went on to describe Rhodes as a ‘workhorse’ on the podcast. The WWE manager claimed that the Undisputed Champion was extremely committed to promoting the business.
“A workhorse. My God, man. And he’s doing it on his days off too. The commitment he has to promote the product goes along with it,” he said. “It’s all about finding the greatness within people and helping them understand themselves and how to bring it out. That’s what a director does, or a producer does, or whatever a wise man does,” Heyman added.
In the last three years, Rhodes has emerged as one of the leading faces in the WWE. The American Nightmare was an executive vice president and wrestler for All Elite Wrestling (AEW) before making his return to WWE in 2022.
It was reported that a failed contract negotiation in AEW led to Rhodes coming back to his former company. Within a year, Rhodes made history by winning the 2023 Royal Rumble. He headlined WrestleMania 39 where he faced Roman Reigns in the main event. After failing to secure the Undisputed title that year, Rhodes secured another title shot by winning a second consecutive Royal Rumble match in 2024. He went on to make history at WrestleMania 40, emerging triumphant against Reigns in the second attempt.
Rhodes is currently involved in multiple storylines in the WWE. He has an ongoing feud with wrestling co-star Kevin Owens while also being deeply involved in a heated row with Solo Sikoa’s Bloodline. Rhodes is set to defend his Undisputed Championship crown at the WWE Royal Rumble 2025 where he will face Owens.
