Resolution to abolish nuclear weapons in Lok Sabha

Speaker Om Birla recalled the horror of the nuclear attack on Japan as soon as the proceedings of the House began. On 6 August 1945, nuclear bombs were dropped on Nagasaki and Hiroshima. A large number of people were killed and thousands were crippled. The citizens there are still suffering from radiation. The country pledges to eliminate nuclear weapons and make collective efforts for global friendship and peace. A moment of silence was also observed to express condolences to the people who suffered from the nuclear attack.
