Parliamentary panel asks NTA to define paper leak, disclose incidents since 2018, detail NEET UG 2024 probes, staffing, and status of 101 K. Radhakrishnan panel reforms.

Amid the ongoing probe into the NEET paper leak case, which exposed vulnerabilities in the examination process at multiple confidential levels, a Parliamentary Committee has asked the National Testing Agency (NTA) to clearly define what constitutes a “paper leak” and disclose whether any such incidents have occurred in exams conducted by it since 2018, PTI reported, citing sources.
The move follows the appearance of NTA officials before the Parliamentary Committee for Education, Women, Children, Youth and Sports, headed by Congress MP Digvijaya Singh.
Panel Questions NTA On NEET-UG 2024 Irregularities
During the meeting, NTA representatives reportedly maintained that no paper leak had occurred from the agency’s system and argued that some of the questions circulating before examinations had originated from guess papers.
The panel, examining examination-related controversies, has sought detailed written responses from the NTA. The panel also asked the testing body whether it conducted any inquiry into the allegations of irregularities in the NEET-UG 2024 paper (outside of the CBI investigations), the report mentioned.
Agency To Submit Replies By June 10
The committee has also sought information on the NTA’s staff strength over the past three years, recruitment undertaken since 2022, and copies of annual reports submitted to the Department of Higher Education during the same period.
In addition, the panel has sought a comprehensive status report on the implementation of all 101 recommendations made by the high-level committee led by former ISRO chief K. Radhakrishnan. The expert panel was constituted in June 2024 to suggest reforms aimed at improving transparency, examination processes, institutional functioning and data security within the NTA.
According to sources, the NTA has been directed to submit its written responses to the committee by June 10.
