Google has added many features like ‘AI Inbox’ and ‘AI Overview’ to its email platform Gmail. Now your Gmail inbox will not only receive emails, but like a personal assistant, it will also tell you which emails are most important to you.
Google says that this new inbox will work on the reasoning power of Gemini 3. With this, instead of showing a list of emails, it will suggest necessary actions according to the context.
You will be able to search old mails by asking questions in the search box.
You no longer need to search keywords or manually scroll to find old emails. You will be able to ask questions in simple language in the search box of Gmail. Like- “What was the decision taken on this project last year?” or “Who sent the flight ticket?”.
Gemini’s reasoning power will analyze your old emails and find accurate information and respond directly. Currently this feature is for Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers.
Like the search engine, Google has also introduced ‘AI Overview’ feature in Gmail. Often multiple people talk in the same email thread, making it difficult to find old messages.
Now AI Overview will condense such long conversations into a few points.
Emails will be shown according to need, not according to time.
Google is also bringing a tool called ‘AI Inbox’. This inbox will sort your emails by importance rather than by time.
It will identify your important senders, upcoming deadlines, and important bill or appointment reminders and show them at the top. Google claims that it is completely safe.

Google has introduced ‘AI Inbox’ feature for Gmail, which will show important tasks and summary of emails.
‘Help Me Write’ is now free for everyone, will also match the style
Gmail’s ‘Help Me Write’ feature is now free for all users. Apart from this, ‘Smart Reply’ has also been upgraded to ‘Suggested Reply’. It will understand the context of your conversation and suggest responses matching your tone. That means it will help you draft emails in your style.
Proofread and advanced features for premium users
While many features have been made free, some special tools are still reserved for paid subscribers. The ‘Proofread’ feature, which offers grammar checks as well as suggestions for improvements in style and tone, will be available only to ‘Google AI Pro’ and ‘Ultra’ subscribers.
Similarly, the feature asking questions in natural language will currently be available only to premium subscribers in the US.
