US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor hailed Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s visit to India as “historic”, asserting it reflects communication between “trusted partners” rather than an effort to repair relations.
In an interview with CNN-News18, Gor expressed glee over Rubio’s India tour, saying, “This is a historic visit. We are thrilled, we are about to meet the Prime Minister”.
In view of the recent strain on the India-US ties, he said the visit reflects communication between “trusted partners” rather than an effort to repair ties. “Since I have been here for a long time, this is not repair visit but a visit between trusted partners”, said Gor.

Underlining the roadmap for the future of India-US ties, Gor said the Trump administration is willing to take the relations to “another level”.

Hails PM Modi’s Vision
Sergio Gor noted the significance of the upcoming Quad discussions, saying, “There’s a lot to discuss, results will come out of it”.
Hailing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision, he added, “You have a Prime Minister with great vision.”
Marco Rubio and his wife Jeanette D. Rubio landed in New Delhi on Saturday after a brief stopover in Kolkata. Ahead of his scheduled meeting with PM Modi, he paid a visit to Sewa Tirth.
The two leaders are gearing up to discuss bilateral relations and enhancing cooperation across various sectors as part of a wider effort to bolster the strategic engagement between India and the US.
