The two sisters replace Arnaz Kotwal and Freddy Talati, who stepped down to take up new appointments. With this, Noel Tata’s children have now joined the board of small-sized Tata Trust. However, they are not yet included in the two major trusts – Sir Ratan Tata Trust and Allied Trust and Sir Dorabji Tata Trust and Allied Trust.

This change in the board of Sir Ratan Tata Industrial Institute has come into controversy. According to media reports, outgoing trustee Arnaz Kotwal has expressed dissatisfaction with this process in a letter written to his fellow trustees.

He said that the way he was asked to resign to bring in new trustees was not right. Kotwal, who lives in Dubai and works with VFS Global, wrote – I am sad that none of you contacted me to talk directly on this matter.
