Shivraj Motegaonkar is the Director of RCC Coaching Classes in Latur.
NTA has taken action against Aditya Motegaonkar, son of Shivraj Motegaonkar, RCC coaching center operator based in Latur, Maharashtra and accused in the NEET-UG paper leak case.
He has been banned from appearing for NEET-UG exam for 2 years. According to NTA, Aditya has also been declared ineligible for NEET-UG 2027. Shivraj is still in judicial custody.
According to CBI, Shivraj Motegaonkar had given ₹5 lakh to PV Kulkarni, who was part of the paper preparation team, to obtain chemistry questions for the NEET exam.
Allegation of giving questions in coaching class
CBI alleges that Shivraj’s son Aditya used to go to the coaching classes of PV Kulkarni. According to the agency, it was here that the questions related to the examination were made available to it.
After re-examination, NTA also withheld Aditya’s result.
NTA had conducted the re-examination of NEET-UG on 21st June. After this, Aditya’s result was stopped and he was asked to answer about the irregularities.
Aditya, in his reply, denied using any unfair means during the examination. He said that the NTA notice was related to irregularities in the examination held on May 3.
He raised the question that when the notice was regarding the examination of May 3, then why the result of the re-examination held on June 21 was withheld.
The exam for May 3 was canceled
NTA had canceled the NEET-UG exam held on May 3 amid allegations of paper leak. After this, the examination was conducted again on June 21.
NEET-UG is an examination conducted by NTA for admission to medical courses. The examination of May 3 was held in 551 cities of the country and 14 centers abroad. About 23 lakh candidates had appeared in it.
The investigation of the case is with CBI
According to NTA, irregularities in the examination were reported on the evening of May 7. After this the case was handed over to CBI. So far 13 accused have been arrested in the paper leak case.
The CBI had filed the final report in the case in the designated fast-track court of Delhi last month. The court is hearing criminal cases related to paper leaks and other unfair practices in public examinations.
Expert committee was formed in 2024
On June 22, 2024, the central government appointed former ISRO chief K. An expert committee was formed under the chairmanship of Radhakrishnan.
The committee had given 101 recommendations to improve the examination system of NTA, deal with paper leaks and other irregularities.
