NEET UG Re-Exam 2026: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released frequently asked questions (FAQs) regarding the re-examination of NEET UG 2026. The exam, which was cancelled after a paper leak, will be re-conducted on June 21. The agency has addressed key queries related to fee refunds, change of exam city, allocation of exam centres, language medium, and the re-examination process.

What is the NEET UG exam date and shift?

The NEET UG re-exam will be held on June 21 from 2 PM to 5:15 PM. It will be conducted in pen-and-paper mode in various cities across India and abroad. The exam will be held in 13 languages: English, Oriya, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, Urdu, Marathi, Malayalam, Gujarati, Punjabi, Assamese, and Kannada.

How will the NEET UG fee be refunded?

The NTA has clarified that no additional fee will be charged for the NEET UG re-exam. Moreover, any fee already paid will be refunded. Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has also assured this. From May 21, the NTA will activate a separate module for candidates to submit their bank account details for fee refunds. Candidates will need to enter their bank details in this module.

Till when can the exam city be changed?

Candidates will be allowed to change their exam city for the NEET UG re-exam. They can update their preferences on the official website until 11:50 PM on May 21. The NTA has stated that exam centres are allotted based on the cities chosen by candidates and subject to availability. Therefore, the re-exam centre may differ from the earlier one.

Can the medium of examination be changed?

The NTA has clearly stated that candidates cannot change the medium of the exam. They must appear in the same language they had selected while filling out the application form.

Why were additional 15 minutes given?

The NTA has informed that candidates will be given an additional 15 minutes for the NEET UG re-exam. This extra time will be used for document verification, attendance, and other pre-exam formalities.

Where to lodge a complaint regarding the examination centre?

Candidates who faced inconvenience or any issues at the centre during the May 3 exam can lodge a complaint by writing to the NTA helpdesk email, along with supporting documents.
