If a candidate finds an error in the answer key, they can file an objection by paying the prescribed fee.
Candidates who took the exam can now check the correct answers by visiting the official website, neet.nta.nic.in. The release of the provisional answer key allows students to compare their answers and calculate their expected scores. This allows them to estimate their scores before the results are announced.
NTA has also given candidates the opportunity to raise objections to the provisional answer key. Students with objections to a question or answer can file their challenge until June 28, 2026. A fee of Rs 200 per question will be charged. A team of experts will review all objections. If any objection is found to be valid, necessary amendments will be made to the final answer key.

How To Check Score Using Response Sheet
After the provisional answer key is released, students can compare their response sheets with the answer key. This will help determine how many questions they answered correctly and their estimated score. However, the final result will be determined solely based on the final answer key released by the NTA, so scores calculated based on the provisional answer key will only be considered estimates.
As per the marking scheme, candidates will receive four marks for every correct answer, and one mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer. Unanswered questions receive zero marks.
The NTA will release the final answer key after reviewing the objections received by June 28. The final result of NEET UG 2026 will be declared only after this, so candidates who have doubts about any answer can submit their objections in time.
