Pakistani Nadeem pipped Chopra to the coveted yellow metal at the Paris Games as the Indian had to settle for silver in France, after his gold-medal winning exploits in Tokyo in the previous edition of the multi-sport extravaganza.
This will also be the first time the duo clash against each other since Chopra got the 90m mark monkey off his back earlier in the season.

Chopra reclaimed the top spot in the World rankings towards the end of June following a run of wins as he took his tally to 1445 points.
Chopra’s latest triumph came at the inaugural edition of the NC Classic in Bengaluru as the two-time Olympic medallist came up trumps with an effort of 86.18m to pip Julius Yego of Kenya and Rumesh Pathirage of Sri Lanka.
Chopra showcased his prowess with an 85.29m attempt at the Ostrava Golden Spike event, following his triumph at the Paris leg of the Diamond League where he achieved an 88.16m throw in the French capital, surpassing Weber to claim the top podium spot.
The Indian ace finally surpassed the 90m mark with a personal best of 90.23m at the Doha Diamond League, although Weber edged him out for the title in the Qatari capital with a final throw of 91.06m, marking the German’s first throw over the coveted distance.
Weber bested Chopra again in Poland at the Janusz Kusocinski Memorial, but Chopra returned to his winning ways by securing titles in Paris and Ostrava.
Chopra, who won the gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021 with a throw of 87.58m, added a silver to his trophy collection at the 2024 Paris quadrennial event with an 89.45m attempt.
