Amid the ongoing probe into the Nashik TCS harassment case, a dessert allegedly laced with an intoxicating substance has emerged as a crucial lead.

An employee revealed that the accused first became friends with him before he was trapped in the conversion process, NDTV reported. He alleged that he felt heavily intoxicated and disoriented after having ‘sheer khurma’ at the house of Tausif Bilal Attar, one of the seven suspects, on Eid.

The employee stated that the accused, taking advantage of the situation, allegedly exploited his personal family grievances and mental distress to suggest “black magic” as a spiritual solution.

Following this, he was pressured into wearing religious symbols and filmed. The accused then sent fabricated negative performance reports to his superiors at his office to create professional instability and increase his dependency on the group.

NDTV reported a key piece of evidence — a photograph of him in a religious attire — remains an important document in the ‘conversion’ process. The photo was reportedly uploaded to a ‘TCS Nashik’ WhatsApp group.

Investigators are tracing the specific shop from which the religious cap was bought. Meanwhile, efforts are underway to seize a Maruti Swift car allegedly used to transport the employee to various locations.

The conversion case came to light after several women employees at the office filed complaints with harassment charges against their colleagues. The police have arrested seven suspects so far and filed nine FIRs. All the seven accused were suspended by TCS.

Meanwhile, new details have surfaced in the alleged sexual harassment and religious harassment case at Tata Consultancy Services’ BPO unit in Nashik, with police sources saying that Aadhaar and PAN cards of the victims have been recovered from the house of one of the accused.

Investigating teams also seized the victims’ clothes and belongings from the residence of accused Danish.
