Elon Musk’s company Starlink has started the hiring process in India. The company is looking for candidates for finance and accounting roles.
This is a big step towards launching satellite internet service in the country. It is believed that Starlink service may start in late 2025 or early 2026.
All jobs are out for Bengaluru
All the jobs are in Bengaluru, which will become Starlink’s main operational hub. The company has posted roles like Payments Manager, Accounting Manager, Senior Treasury Analyst and Tax Manager. Only local candidates can apply. There is no remote or hybrid option.
Starlink gave demo of service in Mumbai
Starlink is setting up ground infrastructure in India. The company has started security trials so that government rules can be followed. A demo of the service has been given to law enforcement agencies in Mumbai. All this is necessary before spectrum allocation.
The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) and TRAI are currently working on the spectrum framework. Starlink has sought approval to set up three gateway stations in Mumbai, Chennai and Noida.
The company will expand the gateway network to 9-10 locations after the launch. It is planning new sites in cities like Chandigarh, Kolkata and Lucknow. This will provide connectivity in every corner.

Took office in Mumbai also, monthly rent ₹3.52 lakh
According to an Economic Times report, Starlink Satellite Communications has rented 1,294 square feet space on the ground floor of Boomerang, a commercial building in Chandivali.
The lease is for 5 years starting from October 14th. Monthly rent is more than ₹3.52 lakh and will increase by 5% every year. The company has deposited a security deposit of ₹31.7 lakh. That means, the business setup has been done, now all that is needed is the final approval.
Prices may reduce with the arrival of Starlink
India’s satellite broadband market is still new. Companies like Jio, Airtel are also jumping into this, but Starlink’s technology is of global level. With the entry of Starlink in the Indian market, competition will increase, prices may reduce and connectivity will improve.
What is Starlink and why is it special?
Starlink is a project of SpaceX, which provides high-speed internet through satellites. Its satellites rotate close to the earth, due to which the internet runs fast and smooth. This is especially beneficial for those areas, like villages or mountains, where general internet is not available.

What will be the benefit to the common people?
Starlink will provide internet access to villages and remote areas. This will promote online education, telemedicine, and business. Also, with increasing competition in the telecom market, cheaper and better plans can be available.
