Nikhil Kamat, founder of trading platform Zerodha, has uploaded the podcast interview he did with the world’s richest man Elon Musk on YouTube. In this interview, Musk spoke openly on issues like AI, future of work, Starlink, immigration, population and X.

Musk says that in the coming 10–20 years, AI and robotics will grow so fast that it will not be necessary for humans to work. In the same conversation, he said that America has taken maximum advantage of Indian talent and due to politics on H-1B, the talent flow is also being affected.

Question 1: What will be the future of work because of AI and robotics?

answer: My prediction is that work will become an option in 10-20 years. If people want, they work, if they don’t want, they don’t. AI will create so much productivity that most of the needs will be fulfilled by robots and machines themselves.

Job will become like a hobby for humans instead of a necessity. Some people will work because they enjoy it, not for survival.

answer: AI and robots are advancing like a kind of supersonic tsunami. In a few years, the goods and services produced in the world will exceed the growth of money supply. That means there will be more goods, prices will be lower. This is what AI-driven economy will bring

answer: Starlink consists of thousands of satellites that operate in a 550 kilometer low-Earth orbit. All satellites are connected by laser link. Starlink’s real value is highest in India, where broadband is not available in large parts of the country. 70% of the population in India lives in small towns or villages. So Starlink’s impact could be big here.

Question 4: What is the future of money? Will the currency expire?

answer: When AI-robotics fulfill every need, there will be no need for money. The real currency will be energy. Energy will be free and plentiful from solar-powered AI satellites. Money is the database of labor allocation; when labor is no longer needed, money will become redundant.

Question 5: What is your opinion on immigration and H-1B?

answer: The opposition seen in America regarding immigration is due to the misuse of the H-1B visa program and the lax policies of the previous governments.

America has benefited greatly from talented Indians. Musk cited Indians like Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella and Google CEO Sundar Pichai as examples.

answer: Twitter had gone into a kind of ideological imbalance. Leftist ideas were being promoted, while rightist voices were being suppressed. I tried to make it a centrist platform.

answer: I am very concerned about the declining population. If the birth rate remains low then humanity may gradually become extinct in the future. The more humans there are, the more consciousness there will be and the ability to understand the universe will increase.

Question 8: Do you have many children and from many partners? Do you believe in the traditional family model? answer: Yes, I believe the traditional family model works, and is right for most people. My situation is a little different, but that doesn’t mean the traditional family model is wrong.

answer: India is very important. There is a lot of talent. Starlink wants to launch in India. India will play a big role in AI and space.

Question 10: What message would you like to give to the young entrepreneurs of India?

answer: Make useful product-service. Create value, money will come automatically. Work hard, accept the chance of failure. I respect the one who gives more to the society.
