Rain alert in 13 states on September 30

  • The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of heavy rain on September 30 in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Lakshadweep, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Goa, Maharashtra, Gujarat.
  • There is an alert of heavy rain in Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura from 2 to 4 October. There is also a possibility of lightning in these states.

IMD scientist SD Sanap said that due to the formation of low pressure area over the Bay of Bengal and the possibility of it moving towards the northwest, there will be good rains in Maharashtra from September 26. There is a possibility of heavy rain in Maharashtra and Goa till September 28.

According to IMD, rains have started in Maharashtra this monsoon season after a long gap. In such a situation, it is too early to predict the end of monsoon from Maharashtra in October.
