A minor boy and a girl were molested and harassed by a group of men in Bihar’s Jamui, while the duo was returning from their coaching class on Saturday evening. The accused men stopped their scooter, forced them to get off and chased them when they tried to run away.

Police told CNN-News18 that two accused have been detained in connection with the case.

Videos of the incident are making rounds online, showing the accused individuals repeatedly harassing the students, asking if their families knew that they were together. “Everyone in the house knows (Everyone in our families know)”, said the girl. At one point, an accused was seen slapping the boy, asking him to call up his family and let him speak to them.

According to an India Today report, the two had gone to the popular Madwa Pahad, a hill destination in the city. While they were returning home, a group of men stopped their scooter and began assaulting them.

When they tried to escape, one of the accused chased them away and sexually harassed the girl by purportedly grabbing her private parts. They also captured the video on camera and circulated it online, sparking outrage.

The harassment continued when the minor students tried to flee on the scooter. With the girl riding the pillion, one of the men was seen touching her breast and pulling her by hand.

The girl, meanwhile, kept pleading: “Let Humein know. Never come here again (Please let us go. We will never come back here, again).”

Despite her pleas, the group kept harassing the duo before finally letting them go. After the incident went viral online, police took a suo motu cognizance of the matter and initiated an investigation, India Today reported.

Police spoke to both minors to gather more information about the men involved in the incident. A probe is also underway to identify the circumstances surrounding the incident.
