Mild earthquakes hit Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, no casualties or damage reported


Mild earthquakes were recorded in Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka on Tuesday morning, with tremors felt in Alluri Sitharama Raju and Vijayapura districts respectively. Authorities confirmed there were no casualties or property damage.

According to the Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority (APSDMA), a 3.7 magnitude earthquake struck Alluri Sitharama Raju district at 4.19 am.

The tremor, recorded at a depth of 10 km, was also felt in parts of neighbouring Visakhapatnam district. Officials said the quake was brief, and district disaster management teams were placed on alert as a precaution.

In Carnataka, 2.9 Malaka, recordings of 7.49 am. Talda said,

KSNDMC said the intensity was low and the tremor might have been felt within a 50–60 km radius. The area, which falls under Seismic Zone III, has seen minor quakes over the past few days. Officials clarified that there were no major structural concerns and urged residents to remain calm, as such tremors are not harmful.
