A commotion during Police Station Day in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, has caught the attention of social media. The incident occurred when District Magistrate CP Singh conducted a surprise inspection at the Jaint police station.

During the inspection, regional accountant Lekhpal Hazarilal was found missing. When he eventually arrived, he was dressed in jeans and a shirt instead of his uniform and lacked necessary documents. This infuriated DM Singh, who immediately suspended Hazarilal for negligence.

Who Is DM CP Singh?

DM CP Singh, whose full name is Chandra Prakash Singh, hails from Gonda and was born on July 8, 1970. He holds an M.Sc. degree and initially began his career as a PCS officer before being promoted to IAS on November 5, 2018.

Where Was He Posted?

After his promotion to IAS, Chandra Prakash Singh, popularly known as CP Singh, first served as Municipal Commissioner of Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation from November 5, 2018, to February 15, 2019. He then took charge as District Magistrate and Collector of Kasganj from February 15, 2019, to October 23, 2021, followed by a tenure as Vice-Chairman of the Khurja Development Authority, Bulandshahr, until September 18, 2022.

Immediately afterward, he was appointed District Magistrate of Bulandshahr, serving until January 18, 2025. Since then, he has been the District Magistrate of Mathura. CP Singh is known for his strictness and prompt action, handling numerous controversies in Kasganj and Bulandshahr while maintaining a clean image in Mathura.

What Happened On Police Station Day?

The incident occurred during Thana Diwas (Police Station Day) at the Jaint police station in Mathura. On September 28, 2025, DM CP Singh carried out a surprise inspection. Revenue records were required for government work on Gram Sabha land in Jaint village. The DM summoned the regional accountant, Hazarilal, who was absent. The Tehsildar was asked to call him immediately.

When the accountant finally arrived, he was dressed in jeans and a shirt instead of his uniform and came without the necessary documents, including land records and revenue maps. Unable to produce the required records, the accountant halted the land search, angering the DM. CP Singh cited his negligence in government work and immediately suspended him.

The Tehsildar of Mathura has been tasked with investigating the matter and submitting a report within a month. Meanwhile, the accountant has been reassigned to the land records computer office at Mathura Tehsil.

In September 2024, the Uttar Pradesh Revenue Council mandated that accountants, amins, revenue inspectors, and deputy tehsildars wear white shirts with blazers bearing the UP Revenue Council logo.
