Mangoes are cultivated in almost every state of India, with Uttar Pradesh leading in the production. Here’s the state-wise data of production.

Alphonso mangoes are primarily grown in Maharashtra’s Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, and Devgad regions.

Bangalora mangoes, also known as Totapuri, are primarily grown in South India and are known for their tangy flavor and distinct beak-like tip.

Originating from Malihabad in Uttar Pradesh, Dasheri mangoes are known for their sweet aroma and fiberless pulp. Meanwhile, Kesar mangoes are prized for their bright orange pulp and naturally sweet, saffron-like flavour.

While Langra mangoes from Varanasi stand out with their tangy-sweet taste and stay green even when ripe, the Samar-e-Bahisht Chausa, grown in North India, offers a golden-yellow, ultra-sweet, and juicy bite.

Vanraj mangoes from Gujarat are known for their deep red blush and rich, sweet-sour flavor, while Suvernarekha mangoes from Andhra Pradesh have golden-yellow skin and mildly sweet, juicy flesh.

Mankurad mangoes originate from Goa, while Mulgoa mangoes are a prized variety from Tamil Nadu, especially around Salem and Chittoor regions.

Bombai Malda, from West Bengal, is known for its rich sweetness and strong aroma, while Bombay Green, popular in North India, is an early-season variety with a mildly tangy taste and crisp texture.

Fernandin mango, also known as Francis mango, is a popular West Indian variety prized for its sweet, tangy flavor and fibrous texture.
