Makar Sankranti 2025: The second royal bath of the ongoing Mahakumbh 2025 in Prayagraj is today i.e. on 14th January, on the auspicious occasion of Makar Sankranti. This bath holds a special significance for the devotees, because on this day the Sun enters Capricorn, due to which the benefits of bathing in the river Ganga increases manifold.

The royal bath in Mahakumbh has its own special significance. This bath is done by the sages and saints of different Akharas at a fixed time. First bath on Makar Sankranti
This time, Mahanirvani and Atal Akhara have been given the first time to take Shahi Snan, which is from 5:15 am to 7:55 am. After this, Niranjani and Anand Akhara have been given time from 6:05 am to 8:45 am.

The best time to take bath in Ganga or Sangam on Makar Sankranti is Maha Punya Kaal (9:03 am to 10:48 am). If bathing is not possible at this time, then bathing can be done during the Punya Kaal (up to 5:46 pm).

Charity and charity also have special significance on the day of Makar Sankranti. Donating sesame, jaggery, khichdi, clothes and money on this day is considered auspicious.
