Maithili Thakur will contest from Alinagar in Darbhanga district, while former IPS officer Anand Mishra has been fielded from Buxar

Folk singer and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Maithili Thakur expressed heartfelt gratitude and emotion after filing her nomination papers from the Alinagar Assembly constituency for the upcoming Bihar elections.
Voting for the 243-member Bihar Legislative Assembly will take place in two phases, on November 6 and November 11, with counting scheduled for November 14.
In a post on X on Friday, Thakur wrote, “Today, I submitted my nomination as the official BJP candidate from the Alinagar Assembly constituency. Following the nomination, I attended a blessings ceremony held in the esteemed presence of Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Shri Nityanand Rai ji. The affection and blessings I received from the people of the region have been truly inspiring.”
She further pledged her commitment to the constituency, stating, “With a firm resolve to serve and contribute to the development and welfare of Alinagar, I will continue to work with full dedication and energy. My heartfelt thanks to the numerous devoted party workers, respected office-bearers, and the people who have shown immense faith in me.”

Expressing appreciation to the party leadership, Thakur added, “I sincerely thank the BJP and NDA leadership at both the central and state levels for their confidence in me. I remain committed to serving the people of Alinagar and ensuring that the welfare-oriented policies of the BJP-NDA reach every village and every household.”
Earlier this week, the BJP released its final list of candidates for the Bihar Assembly elections. Under the NDA alliance, the saffron party has been allotted 101 seats.
As per the list, Maithili Thakur will contest from Alinagar in Darbhanga district, while former IPS officer Anand Mishra has been fielded from Buxar.
