Lucknow Coaching Centre Fire News Live: At least 15 students are dead after a massive fire broke out at a commercial building in Lucknow on Monday afternoon.
The coaching institute is located in the Purnia area of Aliganj and was functioning from the upper floors of a commercial building. According to eyewitnesses, seven to eight students jumped from the building amid the blaze, while several others were feared trapped inside.
Following the incident, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath cancelled his engagements in Aligarh and Hathrash and reached the fire site. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is also scheduled to visit Lucknow in wake of the tragedy. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also extended condolences and announced ex gratia of Rs 2 lakh for the victims. The injured would be given Rs. 50,000.
