Conor Bradley is out for the 2025-26 season after a knee injury against Arsenal.

Liverpool right-back Conor Bradley has been ruled out of the rest of the 2025-26 season after suffering a ‘significant’ knee injury during the mid-week game at Arsenal. He’s set to undergo surgery on his left knee.
The defender went down in pain off-the-ball, contesting for a long kick with Arsenal’s left-winger Gabriel Martinelli — who was heavily criticised for rolling him out of the pitch as his team chased the winner — in stoppage time. He looked in severe pain and had to be stretchered off the pitch.
“The right-back suffered the issue in the latter stages of Thursday night’s Premier League fixture away at Arsenal. Bradley will undergo surgery in the coming days and then begin a period of rehabilitation at the AXA Training Centre. No timeframe is being placed on his return to playing at this stage of the process,” Liverpool said in a statement.
According to The AthleticBradley has avoided an ACL (Anterior Cruciate Ligament) injury, which Liverpool was said to be fearing after the initial assessments. However, his scans confirmed ‘significant damage to both the bone and the ligaments’.
An ACL injury can often rule players out for over a year but Bradley, a Northern Ireland international, is said to be in contention for the 2026 World Cup, which begins in June, if his nation were to qualify.
It’s nevertheless a big blow to Liverpool. The defending champions might be effectively out of the Premier League race and the Carabao Cup, but they are still hoping to go all the way in the UEFA Champions League and the FA Cup.
Liverpool are already missing young centre back Giovanni Leoni due to an ACL injury, and Bradley’s injury might force a rethink of Arne Slot’s strategy of pushing Jeremie Frimpong to the right wing with Mohamed Salah away at AFCON with Egypt. It might also push the Merseysiders to advance for a defensive reinforcement in the January window.
