JoSAA Seat Allotment 2026: The crucial phase of JoSAA counselling 2026 has started for lakhs of students who qualified JEE Main and JEE Advanced. The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) announced the first mock seat allotment result on June 8. This result is for students who completed registration and locked their choices by 8 pm on June 7. Although this is not the final allotment, it helps students estimate their probable seat based on their current rank and the choices they submitted.

Mock Seat Allotment is a trial result. Its main purpose is to help students understand which colleges and branches they are likely to get according to their present choice filling. This gives them a chance to reassess their options and make changes if needed. If a student does not find their preferred college or branch, they can modify their choice list.

After the first mock seat allotment, JoSAA has allowed students to revise their choices. Students can edit, rearrange, or update their options until 5 pm on June 9, 2026. These revised choices will be considered for the second mock seat allotment. Hence, experts suggest that students should avoid making rushed decisions and, after checking the mock allotment, carefully analyse their rank, previous years’ cutoffs, and available options.

As per JoSAA’s official schedule, the second mock seat allotment result will be declared on June 10, 2026. This second mock result will show students the effect of their updated choices. After this, counselling will move forward towards the final seat allotment process.
