There was a ruckus during the screening of the film ‘The Sabarmati Report’ in Delhi’s Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU). ABVP had organized the screening of this film. Some students pelted stones in protest against this. They tore down the film posters put up in the university.
A student told the media that the film appeared to be a one-sided story. It has shown what happened after the Godhra incident, but it has not shown what had happened before, due to which an incident like Godhra happened.
Actually, this film is based on the 2002 Godhra incident and the subsequent Gujarat riots. At the time this incident happened, Narendra Modi was the CM of Gujarat. Modi was also accused of not taking any concrete steps to stop the riots. However, he was later given a clean chit.
