JEE Main 2025 Day 4 Paper Analysis: The National Testing Agency (NTA) commenced the JEE Main 2025 Session 1 on January 22. Today, January 28, marks the fourth day of the exam. Each day, the exam is conducted in two shifts: the first shift runs from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm, while the second shift takes place from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Candidates aiming for BE/BTech courses appeared for JEE Main Paper 1, while those seeking BArch admissions will take Paper 2.
Paper 1 included 75 questions, divided into three sections: Physics, Chemistry, and Maths. According to NTA guidelines, students had 3 hours to complete the exam, which carried a total of 300 marks.
The evaluation will be as per the following marking scheme:
- Every correct answer: +4 marks
- Every incorrect answer: -1 mark
- Unattempted question: 0 marks

Mathematics: The mathematics exam was considered difficult and lengthy, requiring a solid understanding of concepts and meticulous time management. The questions were designed to test not only conceptual knowledge but also the ability to handle intricate calculations. The solutions required careful thought before beginning, indicating that students had to approach each problem methodically. The exam was heavy on calculations, making accuracy and precision essential for success.
Chemistry: The Chemistry paper featured a mix of moderate and indirect questions. While certain sections were easier, others, especially inorganic chemistry, posed a significant challenge for students. any questions were indirect, requiring students to infer the answer through a deeper understanding of concepts rather than just recalling facts. The exam placed significant emphasis on the NCERT textbook, particularly in the inorganic chemistry section.
Physics: The Physics paper was considered hard and lengthy, with many students finding it challenging to complete within the allotted time The paper featured indirect questions, which required students to apply their knowledge in more complex and less straightforward ways. There was less stress on formula-based questions, indicating that students needed to focus more on conceptual clarity and application of principles rather than simply plugging numbers into formulas.
