It is not necessary to keep print of general ticket in the train: Railways said – showing digital ticket on mobile is enough, traditional dishes will be available in Vande Bharat

It is not necessary to have a general print out for traveling by train. Indian Railways has cleared the confusion regarding general i.e. unreserved tickets. Railways said that it is not necessary to take a printout of the ticket booked through the UTS (Unreserved Ticketing System) mobile app.

During the journey, passengers can show the ticket to the ticket checking staff (TTE) by using the ‘Show Ticket’ option in the app on their mobile and it is completely valid.

This clarification comes after a viral video, in which a TTE was seen asking a passenger for a printed copy of a ticket booked through the UTS app. Due to this video, confusion had spread among many passengers whether now they will have to carry a printout of mobile ticket also.

Railway Ministry said- showing the ticket in the app is enough

Railway Ministry officially released the statement. The ministry said that the unreserved ticket shown in the ‘Show Ticket’ section of the UTS app is a valid authority for travel. Passengers can show the digital copy on the same device through which the ticket has been booked.

However, if a passenger has taken a printout of the ticket after window or online booking, he will have to carry the physical ticket with him during the journey. There is no rule that asks the passenger to take a printout of it. Railways also said that it is wrong for the TTE to demand a printed copy.

Regional cuisine will now be available in Vande Bharat

At the same time, to improve the experience of railway passengers, Vande Bharat is introducing ‘regional cuisine’ in trains. According to the Railway Ministry, the aim of this initiative is to provide local and traditional flavor to the passengers as per their route. Now during your train journey, you will be served everything from Kanda Poha of Maharashtra to the famous Champaran Chicken and Paneer of Bihar.

According to the new list, ‘Champaran Paneer’ will be available on Patna-Ranchi Vande Bharat and ‘Champaran Chicken’ will be available on Patna-Howrah route. Methi thepla and masala gourd are being served to passengers in trains running on Gujarat routes.

At the same time, traditional dishes like Appam, Kerala Paratha and Palada Payasam will be available in Vande Bharat trains of Kerala. Kosha Paneer and Aloo Potol Bhaja can be tasted on the route of West Bengal.

Efforts to promote cultural diversity

Railways says that this step has been taken to showcase the diversity of India’s food and drink. Dishes like Dondakaya Karam Podi Fry and Andhra Kodi Koora have been included in South Indian trains.

Aloo Phulkopi will be available in trains going to Odisha. Railways believes that this will not only provide home-like food to the passengers, but will also promote local culture.
