Iran-US War Ceasefire News Live Updates: Iran Seizing 2 Ships Not A Violation Of Ceasefire, White House Says

US-Iran War News Live Updates: The Iranian seizure of two ships does not violate the ceasefire terms, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told The Fox News channel, adding, “these were not U.S. or Israeli ships, but two international vessels”.

Speaking on the naval blockade of Iran’s ports, Leavitt said Trump’s blockade remains in place “on ships coming to and from Iranian ports”, adding the seizure by Iranian forces “is piracy that we are seeing on display.”

‘Good News’ About Peace Talks Soon?

“Good News” about a second round of peace talks between Washington and Tehran may be coming as soon as Friday, President Donald Trump and Pakistani sources told The New York Post on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Trump announced an extension of the ceasefire and continuation of the Hormuz blockade against Iran until a proposal for peace is sent by Tehran.

Iran acknowledged the ceasefire extension, without confirming that it would attend the new round of talks in Islamabad.

U.S. Capture Of Iranian Vessel

Tensions between the two sides escalated sharply after the US Navy seized an Iranian cargo vessel near the Strait of Hormuz—an act Iran has condemned as “piracy” and a violation of ceasefire understandings, warning of possible retaliation. The situation is further complicated by Washington’s continued naval blockade of Iranian ports, which Tehran views as overtly hostile.

Adding to the unpredictability, Donald Trump has delivered mixed messaging, alternating between expressing optimism about a potential deal and issuing warnings of escalation, including suggesting that a ceasefire may not be renewed. The ceasefire deal between the two sides are set to expire on Wednesday.
