Iran-US War Ceasefire News Latest Updates Today: US President Donald Trump on Sunday said his administration would take its time over any possible agreement with Iran, signalling that a breakthrough in the months-long conflict was not yet close despite rising expectations.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump said he had instructed US representatives not to hurry negotiations with Tehran. He also stated that the US blockade on Iranian vessels in the Strait of Hormuz would remain in place until a formal agreement is “reached, certified, and signed”.
“Both sides must take their time and get it right,” Trump wrote, while cautioning against expectations of an immediate settlement.
There was no official reaction from Iran. However, Iran’s Tasnim news agency, which is linked to the Revolutionary Guards, reported that several issues continued to delay progress in negotiations. According to the report, Tehran is still demanding the release of frozen Iranian funds as part of any potential agreement.
