The top-ranked India doubles duo of Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy were ousted from the Indonesia Open Super 100 tournament on Friday as they went down to the Malaysian pairing of Man Wei Chong and Tee Kai Wun in the quarterfinals of the event in Jakarta.
Shetty and Reddy succumbed 19-21, 16-21 to Chong and Wun in a contest that lasted just over forty minutes to bring the Indian challenger in Jakarta to a grinding halt.

The Indian duo appeared rusty, struggling with their serve and return against Man and Wee, who recently won the Malaysia Masters and the Indonesia Masters earlier this year.
Additionally, the Indians lacked defensive discipline and anticipation, frequently finding themselves in uncomfortable positions and making rushed errors throughout the match due to the Malaysians’ play.
Satwik hit a couple of shots into the net, allowing the Malaysians to take a 9-7 lead. The Malaysians went into the mid-game interval with an 11-9 advantage.
Satwik and Chirag leveled the score at 11-all with aggressive flat exchanges, but Man and Tee reestablished a 15-12 lead. The Indians managed to tie the score at 17-17 after the Malaysians made two net errors, but they couldn’t capitalize on this.
A quick return from Tee pushed the score to 19-17 before Chirag capitalized on a loose net shot. However, Satwik made another error at the net, giving the Malaysians a game point, which they converted.
Switching sides, the Indians looked unsettled and quickly fell behind 3-7 in the second game. The Malaysians exploited the flat trajectory and drift to their advantage, with a sharp smash from Tee extending their lead to 15-9.

Despite trailing 13-17, the Indians showed late resistance. A series of attacking points brought them back to 16-18, including some high-quality flat smashes.
However, Man’s skill at the net and Tee’s curling floater at 20-16 secured four match points, and the Malaysians quickly sealed the contest to advance to the semifinals.
