GST Collection For May 2026: India’s goods and services tax (GST) collections jumped 3.2 per cent year-on-year to Rs 1,94,184 crore in May 2026, according to the latest official data released on Monday, June 1. Net GST revenue for the month stood at Rs 1,66,904 crore, marking a 3.3% annual growth after accounting for refunds.
The gross GST collection had stood at Rs 1,88,172 crore in May 2025 and at an all-time high of Rs 2,42,702 crore in the previous month of April 2026.
For April-May 2026, the country’s GST collection jumped 6.2 per cent to Rs 4.37 lakh crore.
Total refunds issued during May 2026 rose 2.6% year-on-year to Rs 27,281 crore. Domestic refunds fell 4.3% in May 2026, while export-related refunds jumped 16.6%.
Gross domestic GST revenue fell 2.6% YoY to Rs 1.34 lakh crore. In contrast, GST from imports surged 19.1% YoY to Rs 59,654 crore, sharply outpacing domestic growth.
Net domestic revenue declined 2.3% YoY. Net GST from imports rose sharply by 19.7% YoY to Rs 49,403 crore.
