India met 15.5% of Ukraine’s diesel needs in July.
India supplied the most diesel to Ukraine in July 2025. Ukraine’s oil market analytics firm Naforinok has given this information. This bounce in diesel supply has come in a time when the US has imposed a 50% punishious tariffs on India’s Russian oil imports.
According to Naforinok, India met 15.5% of Ukraine’s diesel needs this month, which was only 1.9% in July 2024 last year. In July 2025, India sent an average of 2,700 tonnes of diesel Ukraine every day, one of the highest monthly export figures of this year.
The most interesting thing here is that India is buying the most crude oil from Russia to make diesel, which is having war with Ukraine. That is, on the one hand the US is punishing India for buying Russian oil, and on the other hand India’s diesel is supporting Ukraine’s war -time economy. It reflects global diplomacy and complications of business.
