With the series already won, India could make a few changes and give Vaibhav Sooryavanshi a chance in the third T20I against Afghanistan on Thursday. However, it may not be easy to fit the young opener into the playing XI. Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma are both in good form, and the team may not want to rest either of them as they are regulars in the T20I side.
One option could be to rest Ishan Kishan and bring Sooryavanshi into the team. Kishan captained East Zone in the Duleep Trophy before joining the India squad, while Samson has been keeping wickets in this series. India could also give more time to Shreyas Iyer and Tilak Varma in the middle order. The top three have scored quickly in the first two matches, leaving little time for the other batters.
The third T20I in Delhi could, therefore, be the perfect chance for India to test their bench strength and give Sooryavanshi his much-awaited opportunity.
