Vadodara-based Parul University, one of the leading private universities of the country, has started ‘Lakshya 2047: Center for Future Skills’ to give a new direction to technology-based education and innovation. This initiative is inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Developed India 2047’ vision.

Equipped with state-of-the-art laboratories and modern infrastructure, the center will help students juggle academic studies and rapidly changing technologies in the industry. It was inaugurated in the presence of Union Science and Technology Minister Jitendra Singh.

Focus on AI, machine learning and cyber security

Many hi-tech industrial labs have been set up under ‘Goal 2047’, where students will be given practical training on future technologies. Through this, students will get global technology exposure in collaboration with some of the world’s renowned tech companies.

Global Standard Technology Labs facility

Technology labs like AWS, Apple, Adobe, Autodesk, ANSYS and VLSI have also been created in the university. In these labs, students will be able to work on modern technologies like cloud computing, iOS programming, digital design, semiconductor devices and engineering simulation.

AICTE and AVPL/IDEA lab zones have also been made a part of this ecosystem. This zone has been specially developed for innovation and prototype development.

NVIDIA Lab

This lab will train students in areas like Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning and GPU computing.

Cisco Lab

Here information about modern technologies related to cyber security, networking and digital infrastructure will be given.

ABB Industrial Automation and Robotics Lab

In this lab, hands-on training will be given on robotics and automation technologies related to Industry 4.0.

AR/VR Lab

This lab will provide virtual and immersive learning experience to the students.

Microsoft Lab

Its focus will be on improving the communication and digital skills of students.

Research and innovation will get a new platform

Research based Mind Lab, Sensor Lab and AICTE supported IDEA Lab have also been established in the university. Their objective is to promote research and innovation thinking among the students. Through these facilities, students will get the opportunity to learn not only theory but also experiment and research based learning.

Linkage to Industry Certification and Skill Mission

To strengthen this initiative, the university has partnered with National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and Ethnotech Academy. Under this, students will get the opportunity to participate in industry certification courses, financial assistance and national level skill missions. This will strengthen both the employability and industry readiness of the students.
