“Vishwa Rang 2025 – Tagore International Literature and Art Festival” organized at Rabindra Bhawan Complex, Bhopal, concluded with a grand and emotional conclusion with its four-day creative, ideological and cultural dimensions.
This grand event was inaugurated with the blessings of Honorable Governor Mangubhai Patel, in which former President of the Republic of Mauritius Prithviraj Singh Rupan was present as the chief guest.
On the second day of the festival, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, while participating in the program, described it as a celebration of the creative consciousness of Madhya Pradesh. The concluding session was presided over by former Union Minister and senior litterateur Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’.
Global Cultural Mahakumbh
In this seventh edition, organized under the joint auspices of Vishvarang Foundation and Rabindranath Tagore University and in collaboration with the Culture Department of Madhya Pradesh Government, there was wide participation of litterateurs, artists, educationists, thinkers and youth from India and abroad, which gave this festival the form of a global cultural Mahakumbh in the real sense.
This year, Vishwarang reached out to more than 4.7 crore (47 million) viewers across the globe through digital mediums, social networks and live engagement, marking a remarkable achievement in the series of Indian literary-cultural events.
Vishwarang is a cultural bridge between Indian tradition and modern consciousness.
In the inaugural session on 27th November, Governor Mangubhai Patel described Vishwarang as a powerful cultural bridge between Indian tradition and modern consciousness and said that such events provide a global platform to languages and cultural heritage.
Chief guest Prithviraj Singh Roopan described Indian literature as the universal messenger of human compassion and said that “Vishwa Rang” gives a vision of cultural balance and emotional harmony to the global society.
On this occasion, many distinguished guests including Director General of Vishvarang and Chancellor of Rabindranath Tagore University, Santosh Choubey, Chancellor and Co-Director of Scope Global Skills University, Dr. Siddharth Chaturvedi, and Pro-Chancellor and Co-Director Dr. Aditi Chaturvedi Vats were present.
Inaugurating the main function of the second day, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that Bhopal is now becoming a major center of Indian language consciousness and global literary dialogue and Vishwarang is a celebration of the creative soul of Madhya Pradesh.
The second day started with the invocation of Dhrupad Sansthan. The melody of Tanpura and the notes of Raga Bhopali, Yaman and Kedar drenched the atmosphere with spiritual musical practice.
Brainstorming on various topics
In the conceptual sessions, brainstorming took place on topics like “Questions of the 21st Century – Literature, Society and Culture”, “Skills of the New Century” and the crisis on human consciousness and language degradation in the AI era. In these sessions, speakers like Dr. Nandkishore Acharya, Santosh Choubey, Ankur Wariku, Akash Chopra and lyricist Swanand Kirkire interacted with the youth.
On the third day, in a special conversation session with journalist Saurabh Dwivedi and actress Sanya Malhotra, there was an inspiring discussion on the acting process, self-discipline and life struggles.
In more than 12 parallel forums lasting three days, there were extensive discussions on topics like “From Kautilya to Corporate”, “Concerns of the Century in Stories and Poetry”, “New Language of Literature and Youth Writing”, “Cinema – Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow”, “Changing Narrative on OTT”, “India’s Emerging Sports Power”, “Dimensions of Virtual Communication”, “War and Anti-War Art” and “Meet the Author”.
Radhakrishnan Pillai, Faizal Malik, Divya Dutta, Rajendra Gupta, Divya Prakash Dubey, Mamta Kalia, Neelotpal Mrinal, Shivmurthy, Pushpesh Pant, Priya Malik, Sumit Awasthi and A. Many eminent personalities including Arvindakshan participated.
In sessions focused on diaspora literature, writers from the Netherlands, Sharjah, Sri Lanka, Sweden, Italy, USA, Belgium, Canada, Myanmar, Bahrain, Japan and Indonesia participated and shared views on language preservation, cultural identity and teaching practices in global contexts.
100 young artists honored
In the inaugural session, senior writers of various Indian languages were honored with “Vishwa Rang Samman”. In the 7th Tagore International Painting Competition held on the last day, 100 young artists selected from thousands of entries received from India and abroad were honored.
Every evening of the festival was adorned with cultural presentations. Malvi folk dance presented by Tripti Nagar, Bengali folk music by Shubhavrat Sen, Shri Krishna Leela of Shri Ram Kala Kendra, Deshraag presentation and the singing of Collective Choir Band received immense love from the audience.
The closing evening was made memorable by Bollywood singer Sona Mahapatra with popular songs like “Bedardi Raja”, “Aayi Giri Nandini”, “Chhaap Tilak”, “Jiya Laage Na”, “Narayan Ram Ramana” and “Amber Sariya”.
The staging of the great dance “Ahilya Rupena Sanstha”
After the melodious presentation of Satwani singing in “Uttar Rang” organized on the fourth day, the great drama “Ahilya Rupena Sansthita” directed by Priyanka Shakti Thakur was staged, in which the life philosophy, justice and public service of Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar were presented in a powerful form.
In the concluding session, Prithviraj Singh Roopan said that “Vishwa Rang is giving a powerful message of cultural harmony at the international level.” Presiding, Mr. Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ called it an innovative initiative to strengthen India’s global cultural identity. The four-day Vishwarang 2025 was etched in the pages of history as a unique confluence of literature, art, music, cinema and international dialogue – establishing Bhopal as a powerful center of Indian languages and global cultural discourse.
