IIT JAM 2027 Registration Date Revised, To Begin On September 12

IIT Kharagpur has revised the start date for the online application process for the IIT Joint Admission Test for Masters (JAM) 2027. As per the institute’s updated schedule, registration will now commence on September 12, while the last date to apply is October 12. The application process was earlier scheduled to begin to September 5.

Candidates who wish to appear for the exam must complete the registration process by visiting the JAM Online Application Processing System (JOAPS) after it is activated by the institute on the application form release date. While applying for IIT JAM 2027, candidates will be required to enter all necessary personal and academic details and upload the prescribed documents.

Candidates can opt for one or two of the seven test papers offered: Biotechnology (BT), Chemistry (CY), Economics (EN), Geology (GG), Mathematics (MA), Mathematical Statistics (MS), and Physics (PH).

JAM 2027 scores will be used for admission in IITs and other prestigious institutes for admission to programmes such as M.Sc., M.Sc. (Tech), MS (Research), M.Sc.-M.Tech. Dual Degree, Joint M.Sc.- Ph.D., M.Sc.- Ph.D. Dual Degree and Integrated Ph.D. in various institutes.

JAM 2027: Application Fee

The registration fee for JAM 2027 is Rs 1,000 for one paper and Rs 1,350 for two papers for women, Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Persons with Disabilities (PwD) category candidates. Candidates belonging to other categories will have to pay Rs 2,000 for one test paper and Rs 2,700 for two test papers.

Exam Pattern and Exam Date

The JAM exam will be conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode. The question paper will consist of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), Multiple Select Questions (MSQs), and Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions.

The exam is scheduled to be held on February 14 in two shifts. The first shift will take place from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM, while the second shift will be conducted from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM.
