Police Review CCTV Footage
The student was discovered unconscious with injuries inside his rented house in Munirka village on August 18. According to police, the residence was locked from the inside and neighbours broke open the door after finding him in the injured state.
He was subsequently taken to the AIIMS Trauma Centre, where he remained hospitalised for over 45 days.
Police said their inquiry did not initially uncover any allegation or suspicion against another person. Neither the deceased student’s family nor witnesses reportedly raised concerns about anyone’s involvement in the incident.
Investigators also said the student was alone inside the house when the incident occurred. This, they added, was supported by CCTV footage obtained from a camera installed outside the premises.
Police said that the investigation and subsequent proceedings will be conducted in accordance with the law.
