As investigations continue into the alleged NEET 2026 paper leak case, a Rajasthan-based chemistry teacher credited by many on social media for raising early concerns has claimed he found exact similarities between questions in a ‘guess paper’ PDF and the actual examination paper.
India Today TV/Aaj Tak tracked down Shashikant Suthar, a chemistry teacher from Rajasthan’s Sikar, who said he had shared details with authorities after noticing overlaps in the examination material. Suthar declined to appear on camera, citing the sensitive nature of the ongoing investigation and concerns regarding his family’s safety.
According to Suthar, he came across the alleged ‘guess paper’ shortly after the NEET examination concluded on May 3.
“Someone known to me approached me after the NEET examination was over on May 3 and showed me the PDF of the guess paper. They wanted to know whether questions from it appeared in the actual paper. I was shocked to see that all Chemistry questions appeared exactly as they were in the NEET 2026 paper,” Suthar told India Today TV/Aaj Tak.
He further claimed that he used Artificial Intelligence tools to compare the two sets of questions and found that the Chemistry section in the examination closely matched the material in the PDF.
CLAIMS OF CONTACT WITH NTA, SOG AND CBI
Suthar alleged that officials from multiple agencies, including the National Testing Agency (NTA), Rajasthan’s Special Operations Group (SOG) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), later contacted him as part of the probe.
“The NTA approached me over the phone. I informed them about the details I had regarding the paper leak. Within hours, officials from the investigating agency, the SOG, reached out to me. CBI officials have also met me.
The investigating agencies should get to the bottom of the case,” he said.
There has been no immediate public response from the agencies on Suthar’s claims.
Teacher says he attempted to approach police on exam day
The chemistry teacher also claimed that he tried to report the matter to local police on the night of May 3.
“I went to the Udhyog Nagar police station that night and tried to explain the matter to the concerned police authorities. They asked me to submit a written complaint in the prescribed format. It was getting late, so I informed them that I would return later and left,” Suthar said.
Suthar, originally from Rajasthan’s Hanumangarh district and associated with a coaching institute in Sikar, has drawn attention online after being portrayed by several users as one of the earliest individuals to flag possible irregularities in the examination.
QUESTIONS RAISED OVER FUTIURE CBT MODEL
The teacher also questioned the proposal to shift NEET to a Computer Based Test (CBT) mode in the future, arguing that such systems may not fully prevent malpractice.
“The CBT mode is not foolproof. NEET should be conducted in two phases, Prelims and Mains, similar to engineering entrance examinations,” he said.
His comments come amid broader discussions on examination reforms and transparency in high-stakes entrance tests.
Following concerns over the integrity of the test, the NTA cancelled the NEET 2026 examination, which had been taken by more than 22 lakh aspirants, and announced a re-examination scheduled for June 21, 2026.
Investigations have expanded across multiple states, including Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Haryana and Bihar, as agencies trace possible links connected to the alleged leak network.
So far, the CBI has reportedly made at least nine arrests and carried out searches at multiple locations, including parts of Maharashtra.
