Hyderabad Shocker: Five Members Of A Family Found Dead In Suspicious Circumstances

In a shocking incident on Thursday, five members of a family in Hyderabad were found dead under suspicious circumstances in their house at Maktha Mahabubpet, which comes under the Miyapur police station limits of Cyberabad Commissionerate.

The deceased have been identified as 60-year-old construction worker Lakshmaiah, his wife Venkatamma (55), their daughter Kavita (24), son-in-law Anil (32), and two-year-old grandson Appu. The bodies were discovered by neighbours, who immediately alerted the police.

A team of Cyberabad police, along with forensic experts, rushed to the spot to probe the cause of the deaths. The bodies were later shifted to a government hospital for post-mortem examination.

Financial pressure Suspected as Key factor

According to officials, preliminary investigation suggested the possibility of suicide, though the exact cause of death will be confirmed only after the autopsy report.

Police have said that financial stress may have been a reason behind the tragedy.

Relatives of the family, who arrived after hearing the shocking news, said that they were unaware of any disputes or major issues.

However, some relatives later revealed that the family had been under pressure due to debts. The family had shifted to Hyderabad from Karnataka’s Gulbarga district around six years ago to work and repay their loans.

Anil and Kavita, who were staying separately at Aziz Nagar, had come to Lakshmaiah’s house a week ago.

Friends of Anil told the police that he had spoken to them over the phone on Wednesday evening and mentioned that they had finalised a rented house and were planning to move there on Thursday. Anil was also working as a daily wage construction labourer like his father-in-law.

Senior police officials visited the spot and instructed investigators to carefully examine all angles, including financial distress, family issues, and health problems. Statements of the relatives and friends have been recorded as part of the probe.

Police have said that a detailed report will be released once the autopsy and investigation is completed.
