Summer brings not only the scorching sun but also the problem of cockroaches and ants in the house. When the temperature increases, these insects come out of the cracks in search of moisture and food and reach straight to your kitchen and dining table. While ants go after food items, cockroaches increase the risk of diseases by spreading dirt. If you also do not want to spend thousands on pest control, then there are some things present in your kitchen with which you can complete their work.
Effective ways to drive away insects
There are many chemicals and sprays available in the market to drive away insects, but they are not only expensive but their effect does not last for a long time, hence these home remedies can be very useful for you.
Use of baking soda and sugar is effective: Mix equal amounts of baking soda and powdered sugar. Put it in the places where there are cockroaches. The sugar will attract them and the baking soda will eliminate them.
White vinegar is also very helpful: Make a 1:1 solution of water and vinegar and spray it in the paths and corners of ants. Due to its strong smell, ants lose their way and do not come back again.
Boric acid and flour will do wonders: Mix boric acid and sugar in some flour and make small tablets. Keep them under the sink and at the back of the cupboard. This is the most effective way to drive away cockroaches.
Use bay leaves: Cockroaches hate the smell of bay leaves. Crush it and put it in the corners, they will run away from there.
Use turmeric and cinnamon: Sprinkle turmeric or cinnamon powder on the ants-infested area. Their pungent fragrance helps in keeping ants out of the house.
