As the family of Jaipur resident Neeraj Sharma continues to grapple with the trauma of her alleged murder, which police say was orchestrated by her 23-year-old daughter Ayushi Sharma, a fresh twist has emerged. Investigators are now probing allegations that Ayushi, who is already under arrest, was also involved in her father’s death as part of a larger conspiracy linked to family property and a government job.
According to Rakesh Sharma, who is Neeraj Sharma’s brother and Ayushi’s maternal uncle, Vijay did not die a natural death in 2025. Rakesh has approached both the police and a court seeking an investigation into Vijay Sharma’s death.
Police arrested 23-year-old Ayushi Sharma for allegedly plotting the murder of her mother, Neeraj Sharma, with the help of her cousin Balram alias Ravi, who remains absconding, and several other accused.
Relative Alleges Foul
Rakesh alleged that Vijay Sharma, a Court Master at the Rajasthan High Court, was seriously ill but was on the path to recovery when Ayushi allegedly stopped him from receiving proper medical treatment, India Today reported.
According to the complaint, Ayushi and her cousin Balram took Vijay away from home, claiming they had arranged better treatment. However, Rakesh alleged they did not disclose his whereabouts to the family for nearly three months.
He further claimed that Ayushi later informed the family that Vijay had been admitted to Nivik Hospital in Jaipur. When relatives reached the hospital, doctors allegedly told them that nearly 90 per cent of his body had suffered severe damage. Ayushi then reportedly took Vijay back home, where he later died.
Rakesh also alleged that Ayushi and Balram conducted Vijay’s last rites in their native village. He claimed that soon after Vijay’s death, Ayushi said she would apply for her father’s government job and insisted that the family’s assets be transferred to her name.
‘Ayushi Threatened To Kill Her Mother’
Rakesh further alleged that Ayushi once threatened her mother during an argument, saying that if her father could be killed by removing his feeding tube, killing her would be even easier.
According to the complaint, Neeraj later posted a WhatsApp status indicating that she had only two days left to live.
Rakesh also claimed that after Vijay suffered a brain haemorrhage in 2024, Ayushi concealed details of his treatment and kept him at an undisclosed location until he was admitted to a hospital shortly before his death in April 2025.
‘Ayushi Hated Her Mother’
During questioning in the murder case, Ayushi allegedly told investigators that she had harboured resentment towards her mother for years, claiming she received less affection than her differently-abled brother.
Police said she confessed to discussing the murder plan with her cousin Balram and cited long-standing hatred and disputes over family property as the motive. Investigators described the final-year LLB student as legally aware and highly calculating, adding that psychologists would assist in her interrogation.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Ranjita Sharma said Balram is still absconding and efforts to trace and arrest him are underway.
She added that the allegations made by Neeraj Sharma’s family regarding Vijay Sharma’s death would also be examined as part of the ongoing investigation.
Police said the findings of the fresh probe would determine whether additional charges are filed or a separate case is registered in connection with Vijay Sharma’s death.
Police said Neeraj, a lower division clerk (LDC), was deliberately run over by a Scorpio SUV in Jaipur’s Pratap Nagar on July 3 in an attempt to disguise the killing as a road accident. Seven people, including Ayushi, have been arrested in the case, while Balram is yet to be traced.
